The Deceptives had a need for taking Punk Rock back to its roots: taking the sounds of modern 'punk' bands and boiling it down to the roots of Garage, Surf, and Blues. Guitar/Vocals Germ E. Side and Drummer Neil Brunt, (former members of Olympia band Back Alley Kicks), and Bass/Vocals Josh Palmer (who gigged with Back Alley Kicks a few times), began their work in summer of 2011.
